50+ Anniversary Homecoming—Nov. 2

All Saints will celebrate its 50+ anniversary on All Saints Sunday, November 2, 2008, with a special worship service, music, historical displays, luncheon, and homecoming of former members.  Invitations have been sent out to some 80 families and individuals identified as former members.  All current members, of course, have a standing invitation to attend and enjoy this day of reminiscing, fellowship, and thanksgiving.

Bishop Kee Sloan will be on hand for the festivities, beginning with worship and Eucharist at 10:30am, followed by the luncheon, and an array of other activities lasting until 2:30pm.  The MaxxBrass, a noted brass quintet, will play for the event after the morning service.

This occasion also gives us another opportunity to build further on our outreach efforts.  Laura-Catherine Conville, a member of St. Andrews, Birmingham, is a missionary for the Episcopal Church’s Young Adult Service Corporation and has been invited by the Bishop of Bogotá to serve the youth of Colombia for one year.  She is now raising money to support this mission, and we will allocate our offerings on Nov. 2 to that end.

The Homecoming Committee has been planning this event for several months and has done a great job.  Help us get the word out to everyone in the parish.  It will be a day to remember!
