Welcome to All Saints

Within Christ's family, where is home?  St. Benedict taught Christians always to welcome the stranger, for as he put it, in so doing "some have entertained Christ unawares"!  As you seek a new Church home within the family of God here in Montgomery, I invite you and your family to consider All Saints Church.

When strangers become friends and members of All Saints, wonderful blessings happen:  A recent newcomer shared with me her surprise that "just being welcomed could heal so many wounds."  She went on to speak of the parish as "genuine, open, honest, and healthy," then gave permission to share her words.  A young adult parishioner spoke of Christian education at All Saints as "a testament to how truly remarkable discussion can be when you have a group of people that come together with an attitude of openness and a desire for growth."  He, too, gave permission to share his words.

Perspectives may differ but what is said above resonates with my experience as Rector of this remarkable parish.  Given the issue-oriented world in which we live, All Saints stays focused on the mission and ministry of Christ.  There is an attitude of openness, as our members truly have a desire for growth that is spiritual and personal - and they do grow in Christian love and faith.  For us, the privilege of welcoming you into our parish family is an exciting possibility.

Consider the following highlights as we begin a new Church year at All Saints:

Reception for Military moving to the Montgomery area, on Sunday, August 24, we invite you for worship at 10:30 AM, followed by a special welcome and lunch for you and your family.

"Building Christian Character by Building Colorful Christians!" is a new approach to Church School and Christian education for your family and children.  It is a dynamic and highly interactive design.

All Saints celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2008, which makes this a year of special joy for us.

I hope that you and your family will become a part of our exciting future!  Then we will be able to "welcome the stranger as Christ himself in each other" and our joy will be complete.

Faithfully,

Jim Wallace
